| Webinthebox - Specification | Webinthebox® has four main sets of pages. First there are ten standard user assigned pages that have a blank space for meta information, page headers, images and up to ten topics, each with its own header, intro, 10,000 word topic text, subtext and image. One of these pages is always assigned to the home page, you can put what you like in the rest.
Then there are pages that have standard functions built in, like calendars, galleries and people pages. These come in three levels of sophistication, depending on how much help our average user will need to get them set up and running to the best advantage.
See the reserved pages list for more details. What'll it do Mister? One of the questions that customers often ask is "How many pages will my site comprise?". A perfectly reasonable question. Luckily with Webinthebox® the answer is always "As many as you need".
You can add, edit, remove or hide pages easily and quickly using your admin pages. When your original 40 have been used up, you can purchase more in blocks of 20. |
Webinthebox - Reserved Pages | | There are many reserved page functions and new ones are being added all the time. They are grouped here in three levels of simplicity in setting up; the ones you will be able to manage yourself with no trouble at all, the ones that you may need a bit of help to set up some of the more sophisticated functions and the ones where we recommend that the initial setup is done by your franchisee. | | Easy | Easy when you know how | Franchisee set up | - Reports

Webinthebox - User Pages | User pages are at the heart of what Webinthebox® does. Each one contains the meta information that will help search engines index your site, page headers and footers and the ten topic data sets that make up the page information.
Each topic consists of a header (150 characters), an intro text (1024 characters), the main topic text (64K characters, approx 10,000 words), the sub text or outro (1024 characters) and an image. You can also specify a number of images for each topic that roll over every 5 seconds.
Like all Webinthebox® pages, you can specify a mini-image strip or scrolling marquee either top or bottom. |
Webinthebox - Hosting | The Webinthebox hosting principal is very simple, small is beautiful. Rather than just trying to maximise our profit by cramming in all and sundry, we limit the number of sites per server to just 100 for security and performance. We make this pledge on hosting to our customers: - We will never host more than 100 sites on a server
- We will never host Webinthebox® on any other server
- We will never host any non-Webinthebox® sites on any of our servers
- We will never entrust server login details to any non-Webinthebox® employee
Our hosting renewals may not be the cheapest, but we reckon you will find the value impossible to beat.Above and BeyondFor even greater security, all the site files and databases are backed up weekly, creating a snapshot on the server. This is then downloaded to one of our systems here, which in turn is backed up every hour. In terms of disaster recovery, this means that at any given time there are four copies of your site, plus the originals in existence. These are in two different countries, so the likelihood of loss is infinitesimal.
More than that though, because the backups are snapshots rather than incremental, it is very easy to back pedal to a previous version should you find you don't like your latest content changes.
Additionally, all the core functionality files of Webinthebox® are reloaded every day, so each improvement or change to keep up to date with browser versions is available almost instantly to all our customers. |
Webinthebox - E-Mail | Every Webinthebox® site includes up to five mailboxes set up for your chosen addresses. Each mailbox can have unlimited aliases.
You are not restricted to just five, as any number of additional mailboxes can be added at any time for a small admin fee.
You can check your emails from any computer too as Webmail is part of the kit, or if you prefer, we can install Squirrellmail for you.
Other options include converting your email to sms so it can be forwarded to your mobile phone and setting up exchange mailboxes for customers with a need to distribute email internally over their own network. Can't See the Wood For the Trees?Apart from the inconvenience, one of the worst aspects of the huge volume of spam email that is aimed at everyone with an email address, is that it can mask the fact that a really important email has arrived. Ever had that uneasy feeling that you have got so wrapped up in 'Delete Mode' that you have lost a valuable message?
If you are fed up with this and the constant threat of computer viruses transmitted by email, you can add spam and virus filtering to your hosting pack as low cost options too. This way, you get one message a day listing the suspect communications so you get to decide if any of them are worth reading or not.
