Existing Website Questionnaire. How can the results you get from your existing website be improved upon in the three key areas of getting found, getting the message across and getting a response.
No.QuestionResponse
1Does your website get a top-ten listing when your business activity and location are searched?
When a potential customer is looking for what you do in their area, how likely are they to find your site?
2Does your website get a top-ten listing when your business name is searched
Coming at the top of this list should be the absolute minimum requirement when considering search engine performance.
3Are you happy with the number of visitors to your website?
You should be able to access these statistics easily, then divide the overall cost by the number of visitors to find out how much each one has cost you to attract.
4Are you happy with the number of enquiries via your website/email?
If it is easy enough to respond, visitors will do so.
5Do your website enquiries contain enough information for you to do business?
By asking the right questions, you can elicit the answers that you need in order to gain a head start to doing business when you follow up.
6Are you happy with the ratio of genuine enquiries to spam?
Your website enquiries page should protect you against automated entries.
7Are you proud of the image your website conveys?
First impressions count for a lot and you only get one chance to make one. Your website should reflect the pride you have in your business in the same way as a showroom, shopfront, office or company vehicle would do.
8Do you get enough phone calls from your website?
Direct response is not the only goal. Getting people to phone and progress business to the next stage is just as important. Your website should always give people the option of how they get in touch.
9Can you easily update your own content?
As a bare minimum, your content management system should make it easy for anyone with a very basic level of computer literacy to keep the site text up to date and upload new pictures as required.
10Can you apply specific colour schemes and layouts to pages?
For seasonal promotions, the addition of a temporary colour scheme to the relevant page can really help strengthen the link between time and business. If you can do this on your site, Christmas will never be the same again...
